Remmington
Remy was a superstar and taught me a great deal about horses, riding and how to stay on a bucking session!
He was bought as a broken 4 year old from the UK Brightwells Dressage Horse auction, with Grade 1 xrays and vettings throughtout.
I competed him around the young horse dressage scene when he was 4 and he had many successes at Affiliated level including us being the highest placed amateur rider at the Badminton Young Dressage Horse finals!
When we moved to Spain, we shipped him over with us and after finding our German Trainer, we had to admit to ourselves that dear Remy was not cut out for being a dressage horse - he had jumping in his blood, it was what he loved to do!
As I wanted to concentrate on my dressage with my other 2 horses, I decided to loan him out, with sadly little success, he came back to me and I decided that as I loved him so much, I would take on the jumping ride, much to the amusement of the local jumping pro's. (I did, however, show them that dressage riders can jump!)
Sadly, Remy developed Navicular syndrome during the time here in Spain and after fighting for him for 4 years, we decided that he was in too much pain and he was put to sleep in 2008.
